Product & Care
Yes — our pieces use micron gold, rose-gold and rhodium plating over a durable base metal, chosen specifically for daily wearability rather than one-time costume use. For the longest life, put jewellery on after perfume and lotion, and take it off before washing your face.
Wipe pieces with a soft, dry cloth after each wear, store them in a dry place away from humidity, and avoid soaking them in water or using ultrasonic cleaners, which can strip plating. See our full care guide in the Journal for more detail.
With normal care, plating typically stays bright for a few years of regular wear. Pieces worn occasionally, like bridal sets, last considerably longer since they see far less handling.
Our base metals and plating are chosen with everyday, skin-contact wear in mind. If you have a known nickel sensitivity, we recommend patch-testing a new piece briefly before extended wear, as with any plated jewellery.
One Gram & Gold Plated Jewellery
Imitation jewellery is jewellery made to resemble fine gold or gemstone jewellery without being made of precious metal itself — typically a base metal (often brass) finished with plating, and stones like cubic zirconia or glass kundan in place of diamonds and precious gems. It's designed to capture the look of fine jewellery at a fraction of the cost and weight.
"One gram gold" is the common market name for a style of gold-plated imitation jewellery — it isn't a literal weight of gold in every piece, and it isn't solid gold. It's generally made using a brass base, over which a layer of gold is applied by electroplating. The amount of gold used can vary by design and product, so we don't quote one fixed figure across the whole catalogue. See our full One Gram Gold Plated Jewellery guide in the Journal for the complete breakdown.
Gold jewellery is gold (or a gold alloy) all the way through, priced by weight and typically kept securely rather than worn daily given its value. Imitation jewellery, including one gram gold pieces, uses a base metal with a decorative finish — far lighter on cost and worry, but without the resale or investment value of solid gold. Many customers use both: fine gold for a small number of pieces, imitation jewellery for the rest of their wardrobe.
Brief, incidental water contact is unlikely to cause immediate damage, but we don't claim any plated jewellery is waterproof. Repeated or prolonged exposure — bathing, swimming, dishwashing — will accelerate wear on the plating over time, chlorinated pool water especially. The safest habit is removing jewellery before water-heavy activities, the same as you would with fine jewellery.
Yes. For weddings, it lets you build a fuller wardrobe across ceremonies without the cost or security concerns of solid gold. For Navratri and Garba specifically, lighter, colourful pieces that hold up to hours of dancing are the norm — exactly the kind of occasional, high-movement wear this category is built for.

Ordering as an NRI or from Abroad
Measure an existing bangle that fits well across its inner diameter, or wrap a strip of paper around your widest knuckle and convert that circumference to a diameter. Our size guide on each bangle product page has the full conversion chart.
For domestic orders, 1-2 weeks is usually enough. For international orders to the UK, US or Canada, order at least 3-4 weeks ahead to account for customs clearance.
